Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is an American actress and model. She started out as a young model and received acclaim at age 12 for her role as the lead in the film of Louis Malle Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling until her teens and was featured in numerous dramas in the 1980s, such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields put aside her work as a model and enrolled at Princeton University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields started acting again in the 1990s and was seen in small roles in movies. She also appeared on the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), where she was nominated for two Golden Globes. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. In 2017 Shields was back on NBC with a major recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is currently in its 19th season. Shields is the voice of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of model and actress Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields had ancestral connections with many noble families in Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite and an Italian prince. Her great-uncle, Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the father of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid an amount from the family of Frank to stop the pregnancy.
