Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey is an African-American writer, best known because she was the ex-wife of the comedic legend and television host, Steve Harvey. Marcia Harvey lives a private life, choosing to avoid the attention of the media. Steve did not achieve the success he is currently enjoying, however they had been married for 14 years. It's not clear what led to the split, however Hollywood has heard rumors of it. Many believe that it was due to Steve Harvey's shady ways as well as others attribute it on his decision to pursue comedy as a profession. Her tragic past is believed to be due to Steve's abandonment of her and her daughters while she was expecting with her third baby. Despite all her hardships she's managed to build a successful career in fashion design as well as writing. She is the author of 'Marcia's Eyes To The Soul, 'Marcia's Poems From The Heart, and Marcia's Thoughts From The Mind. Her children are influenced by her generosity and kindness. It isn't much known about Marcia Harvey's childhood, aside from the fact that she was born to an African-American household and that they were not wealthy. Her first job was at the department store 'Saks Fifth Avenue'. She met Steve after a while at a reception for a mutual friend's party. They were in love, and they got married in the year 1980. The couple had twins in 1982. Steve was an insurance salesman. However, at that point Steve had already begun to lose interest in his job and wanted to pursue an entertainment career, especially stand-up comedy. Marcia and Steve experienced a lot disagreements and later reports suggested that they were beginning to split up. A large part of the fame and success of Marcia Harvey stemmed from her marriage and divorce from Steve Harvey. Although the specifics of their divorce in 1994 have been kept private, it is certain that Marcia was expecting their third child at the time when everything went downhill. Marcia was finally able to file for divorce in 1993. Marcia was forced to file for divorce by Steve Harvey's insistence on not paying any alimony or child support following her divorce.
