Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977, in Miami, Florida. He's an American electro house artist recording producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's kids. His father, a former wrestler was also co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has 2 older siblings: sister Kana (who is sometimes referred to by her middle name Grace) & brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, which was where he played as a member of the club that played varsity badminton. He went on to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He earned two degrees: one in sociology and one in feminist studies. He was a student at the college who created records by himself and hosted underground music in his Biko space in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He also was involved in student activism at UCSB by being the founder of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. He had also started an independent record label when he was during the 20s. It was named Dim Mak, after his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. The label came out with I'm IN THE HOUSE, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter ego of will.i.am. The song charted at the top of the charts at No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart in the first week of its release. The song reached the top five in both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. The track was featured on the MTV show Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a HitQuarters interview, in May 2010, with Lucas Secon revealed that Rivers Cuomo and he had just joined forces on a single. The song was named the highest-grossing North American dancer by Pollstar in 2012. He has worked with many artists such as Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is famous for remixing artists such as Kid Cudi.
